The month of May has been a hectic one for Sherriff’s deputies in Pasco County. There were five armed robberies between April 29 and May 14. In three of these events the suspect threatened the victim with a gun. At the Winn-Dixie robbery on May 4, the robber hit the victim with some sort of metal object and then robbed him of the money he had in his pocket. Ten days later the victim claimed that the robber used a semi-automatic gun. The deputies were on the trail of a homeless man in connection with these crimes.

On Saturday May 18, Deputies apprehended Henry Sizemore age 32 of no fixed address. In addition to the five armed robberies there was a warrant out for his arrest in connection with an incident in which he was suspected of stealing a woman’s purse. He is currently on probation and is in violation of the terms of this probation.

Sizemore was known to hang out in the area of Rowan Road and State Road 54. Although this was the area being canvassed by the police they were on the lookout for anyone fitting his description any time they were out on patrol. He was spotted on Saturday by a warrants detective in West Pasco near a pawn shop.

The investigation is continuing into whether or not Mr. Sizemore is the robber in the May robberies. Police had released a statement to warn the public that this man may be armed and dangerous. He was carrying a loaded firearm and possible carrying a concealed weapon. There have not been any armed robberies fitting the same description as those previous five incidents since May 18, but police say it is too early to definitely state that they do have the right person in jail.

The Pasco County Sherriff’s Office will be continuing the investigation and will release a statement to the New Port Richey public as more information becomes available.
